Date Ideas For A Memorable Valentines
Valentine’s Date Ideas
Valentine’s Day is a time of love and thinking of ideas for a memorable date can be difficult. Too often people allow this time of year to come and go without giving it a lot of thought. They simply assume as long as they purchase a box of chocolates and a few red roses that all is well. The key is to come up with enough things to do on Valentine’s to prevent it from becoming just another day.
Because of the traditional habit to do nothing more than purchase a box of chocolates, a pair of boxers, a few roses, cologne, etc., the Valentine’s holiday has lost some of its original luster.
Valentine’s Day is about showing the one’s you love the most how much you care and making memories. Fortunately, you can choose to do a lot more than just buy a flower and a card. Taking your valentine out on a date is one of the best ways to keep the magic alive. Even if you’re married, that’s still no excuse to stay home.
Making the decision to take your valentine out on a date is not only romantic, but will make for an enjoyable time for both you and your date. Depending on what you do, your date can go either good or bad. At very worst, your date will turn out boring and uneventful, which is why it is best to think of interesting things to do on Valentine’s.
Think of some Valentine date hot spots in your area. Some great places to take your date include fancy restaurants, parks, to the movies, out to the mall, to a dance, and you might even consider having a date at your place (if you’re not living together, of course). Think of some place where there will be just enough excitement to keep the night alive, but not so much that it takes your focus off one another. Valentine’s Day is about romance, so the more you can focus on your date, the better.
An especially romantic idea would be to take your date out to their favorite restaurant – or perhaps surprise them with a restaurant they’ve never been to before. For an even more exciting evening, surprise your significant other on Valentine’s Day itself to tell them that you’re going out later. Pay for the date in full without making your partner pay for anything (sure, this may seem like common sense, but you would be surprised at how many people expect their date to pay for their own tab on Valentine’s – it happens quite often).
After the dinner date, take your date on a long romantic walk through the town or through the bay side of the city. There may even be a nice, moderately lit park around the area where you live. Stop somewhere to put on some Valentine’s music – anything with a romantic tone will do. Dance with your partner and gaze into their eyes. Make sure that you really take in the atmosphere. Bring along a couple of Valentine quotes or poems to read to your significant other to let them know how special they are (this idea is obviously not for everyone, especially if you’re not too comfortable with extreme romanticism).
You might also consider preparing for your partner a home-cooked meal at your place, served at the dining room table, surrounded by candle light, soft music, and incense. To end the evening, present your date with a gift – such as the traditional box of chocolates, roses, boxers, cologne, card, etc. (it’s not so bad when you couple it with an eventful evening). Your night will go out with a “bang!”, creating one of the most cherished memories you’ll ever have.
No matter what you decide on, the important thing is that you think big. Going out of your way will pay off in the end, as you will each have something memorable to look back on. For more ideas on things to do on Valentine’s Day, ask your friends and family for suggestions, as well as research online for more creative ideas.
Everyone has a different idea about what is exciting on Valentine’s Day. Getting tips and advice from other people can certainly expand your horizons and most likely, bring to your attention an idea that you would have never thought of yourself. Online, there are literally tons of things to choose from.
The above-listed are just the tip of the iceberg. In articles and blogs, you’ll find a plethora of useful Valentine’s quotes, songs, and dating ideas, each unique and different from all the rest.
